The attention of the Labour Party in Abia State has been drawn to multiple plots by the PDP and the APC in Abia state to adopt the most Vicious and undemocratic strategies to rig the March 11th Governorship and House of Assembly Election in Abia state.
These strategies include but not limited to violence and intimidation of Voters, Snatching of Sensitive Electoral Materials and Abduction of Electoral Officers with the intention of getting them to declare fake results etc.
The APC is plotting to align with some external forces who do not have the interest of Abia and the South East at heart to bring in strange INEC officials into the state few hours to the election and use unconventional means that would be enabled by compromised security agents from outside the state to rig the election.
The PDP on it's own is intensifying efforts to compromise all INEC officials in Abia and use the mechanism of violence and Intimidation with the support of some compromised Security Agents and Notorious Thugs from within and outside the state to execute its rigging plan.
As part of their arrangement, Highly Placed Abia state government officials have concluded plans to hold secret meeting with INEC Ward Collation Officers on Monday 6th March 2023, with the intention of compromising them to rig the March 11th governorship and House of Assembly election.
These two failed political parties and their unpopular leaders who have been emboldened by the hitches that marred the Presidential and National Assembly elections, do not believe that the people they seek to govern should have a say in who governs them, hence the resort to these crude, vicious and anachronistic strategies that negate all tenets of democracy and violate the rights of our people to freely choose their leaders.
We are by this release warning those behind these plots to get back to their senses and reflect on the far reaching consequences of endangering the lives of innocent Abians and creating an atmosphere of militancy and terrorism which may never leave the state once introduced.
If the APC and PDP wanted to genuinely and freely secure the mandates of Abians, they should have impacted the lives of suffering Abia masses positively. Abians are not slaves and should not be treated as such by any individual or political party.
As we intensify efforts with the support of Patriotic Abians and Nigerians to get our Professional Security Forces to abort these criminal plots and burst the plotters wherever and whenever they might be gathering, may we warn all INEC staff serving in Abia to stay away from any meeting or arrangements being made for the purpose of rigging election against suffering Abia masses, or be ready to face severe consequences. Abians have suffered for too long and thus would see anyone conniving with their oppressors to extend their years of suffering as an ENEMY.
