Umuahia, Abia State | July 11, 2025 –
The Umuahia South Dynamic Women’s Forum (USDWF), in an outpouring of heartfelt appreciation and admiration,
has unanimously lauded Hon. Emeka Tommy Jacob Obioma, Member representing Umuahia South Constituency and Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, for what they described as his "rare and people-centered style of leadership."
The group declared that his service has made a tangible and lasting impact at the grassroots, particularly in areas often neglected by previous administrations.
Speaking, the Spokesperson of the USDWF, Mrs. Ngozi Okoro, praised the lawmaker’s recent strides in education, youth empowerment, healthcare support, and community development, calling them “evidence of genuine representation driven by love for the people.”
“Your kind of leadership is rare, sir,” Mrs. Okoro stated passionately. “From the reconstruction of our schools to empowering young people and ensuring that even the voiceless are heard, we, the women across Umuahia South, feel your presence at the very roots of our communities.”
The women, drawn from the ten wards in Umuahia South, presented a letter of commendation to Hon. Obioma, noting that his consistent field engagement, town hall meetings, and quick response to community needs reflect a new era of servant leadership in Abia politics.
They specifically referenced the ongoing reconstruction of Umuopara Secondary School, the distribution of educational support and materials to indigent students, annual free JAMB registration and provision of clean water in rural communities, as landmark interventions that have set a new standard of representation.
“We are not here for politics. We are here because we have seen leadership in action. We have seen someone who comes to our villages, listens to our cries, and actually does something about it,” Mrs. Chinyere Nwoko, another USDWF member noted.
On his part, Hon. Emeka Obioma reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development.
“I am deeply humbled by those words,” Obioma said. “This commendation means everything because it comes from those whose lives we strive every day to touch. We will continue to work tirelessly to make sure no ward, no village, and no voice is left behind in Umuahia South.”
He further reiterated that his vision for Umuahia South is anchored on sustainable progress through grassroots-driven development, with education, women empowerment, healthcare, and economic growth at the core of his agenda.
“We are not just fixing schools or roads; we are rebuilding the confidence of our people in government. We are restoring dignity, opportunity, and hope,” he added.
The gathering ended with prayers for Hon. Obioma’s continued wisdom, strength, and protection as he advances his people-first mandate. The women also pledged their continued support for his future initiatives, declaring that Umuahia South has found a true servant-leader.
