Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie lkpeazu has lauded the Federal Government for establishing the Nigerian Navy, Finance and Logistics College, NNFLC Owerrinta in the State which has enabled the college to train Abia children and offered other social responsibilities in the State.
To this end, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue to support and partner the college and other Security Agencies in the State to sustain the security of lives and property of the citizenry.
Dr lkpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu gave the assurance during the Handing and Taking Over ceremony of the outgone and incoming Commandants, Commodore Suleiman Abdulahi and Navy Captain U M Bugaje of the Nigerian Navy, Finance and Logistics College, Owerrinta, in Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A held at the College Auditorium.
He further assured the incoming Commandant, Navy Captain U M Bugaje that his administration will continue to collaborate with him and the Institute to enable him succeed in his second posting to the State.
The governor acknowledged the immense contributions of the Nigerian Navy and other Security Agencies in checking the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as reduce destruction of lives and properties and casualties during the End SARS Protest.
The Governor also appreciated the the outgone Commandant, Commodore Suleiman Abdulahi for partnering the state government in security matters as well as impacting so much in the College within the few months he superintended over the College and wished him well in his future endeavours.
In his goodwill message, the College Registrar, Chief Emeka Emelogu commended the outgone Commandant for endearing himself to members of the academic wing.
Emelogu who also described Commodore Abdullahi as a very good administrator that presented a listening ear to everyone, prayed God to continue to protect and promote him further in his career.
Earlier in his valedictory speech, the outgone Commandant, Commodore Suleiman Abdullahi thanked the Chief of Naval Staff for finding him worthy to serve expressed joy to have worked with the best calibre of Officials, focused and hardworking students and urged them to remain resolute in their duties and extend the same support to his successor to enable him surpass his achievements.
The event featured highlights of the achievements of the outgone Commandant as well as change in baton between the outgone and the incoming Commandants of the Nigerian Navy, Finance and Logistics College Owerrinta.
