The Abia state governor Alex Otti has been called to intervene over some activities of the government tax force who now carry out their work as touts.
Traders in Orie ugba and indegene of Ugba community in Umuahia north L.G.A of Abịa is said to have been experiencing a high level of molestations, extortion and Humiliation.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Chukwudi Nnochiri, a concerned indigene of Ugba community expressed deep pain over the unbearable level of touting within the Orie ugba market.
He further stated that these activities have lingered for too long and has led to the death of an indigene just yesterday.
He went on to plead with His excellency, Dr Alex Otti to use his good office to deploy security agents in their large numbers to permanently halt this wickedness and outrageous extortion by these people.
In conclusion, he thanked the governor in his initiative for a better Abịa.
