Igbo World Union President Supports Senator Orji Kalu's Stance to End Importation, Cites Aba Industrialists' Capabilities

His Imperial Majesty Amb Sir. Dr. Mishak Nnanta kjw, ksm, JP, Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum President General Igbo World Union, In a significant show of support, has backed Senator Orji Kalu's recent stance to end the importation of goods that can be manufactured locally. This Senator Kalu's statement, which has garnered widespread attention, highlights the untapped potential of Aba and Nnewi's industrialists.

Recall that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has said that the manufacturing industrialists in Aba and Nnewi possess the capacity to end Nigeria’s dependence on imports through the production of all types of goods required by Nigerians. The former Abia Governor also posited that deprecation of the Naira will become history if the Federal government can revive the over 11,886 moribund projects scattered all over the country. Kalu however, stated this while contributing to a motion sponsored by Sen. Jimoh, Ibrahim Folorunsho (Ondo South) on urgent Need to look into the 11, 886 Mega Projects abandoned by the Federal Government.

During a press briefing today, His Imperial Majesty praised Senator Kalu's stance, emphasizing the historical and contemporary significance of Aba as an industrial hub.
He noted that Aba has long been known for its entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, with local artisans and manufacturers producing a wide range of goods, from textiles and shoes to machinery and electronics.

"The industrious people of Aba have always been a beacon of creativity and resilience," the monarch stated. "What Senator Kalu said is a testament to the talent and hard work that defines our people. With proper support from both the government and private sector, there is no limit to what our people can achieve."
Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum,further stated that the industrialists in Aba have the capability to produce virtually anything that is currently imported. "Aba is known as the Japan of Africa for a reason," he remarked. "Our people are skilled, innovative, and capable of producing high-quality goods that can compete on a global scale."

Senator Orji Kalu, representing Abia North, was vocal about the motion in the Senate yesterday, emphasizing the need to boost local production and reduce dependence on imported goods. And according to Kalu, this move would not only strengthen the local economy but also create jobs and foster technological advancement within Nigeria.

Aba, known for its thriving markets and skilled artisans, is often touted as a hub for made-in-Nigeria products.

Sir Mishak Nnanta's support adds a cultural and community-driven perspective to the economic argument. "Our people are not just producers; they are innovators," he said. "Supporting Made-in-Nigeria products is supporting the future of our community and the entire nation. It is about time we recognize and harness the full potential of Aba's industrialists."

At this point many are hopeful that the government's decision will align with the growing sentiment to prioritize local production. If adopted, the motion could mark a turning point for Nigerian industries and set a precedent for other regions to follow.

For now, the people of Abia State, particularly those in Aba, are watching closely, optimistic that their hard work and ingenuity will soon be recognized on a national level.
