Umuahia, Abia State -
In a move to bolster infrastructure development in Ohuhuland, Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, the member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has taken significant strides towards commencing the construction of a state high court in Nkwoegwu

The project, which Hon. Akaliro successfully attracted to the community, is set to bring vital judicial infrastructure closer to the people.

To formally announce the commencement of the project, Hon. Akaliro led a delegation from the Abia State Ministry of Justice and the construction team to pay a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Eze Nzewata Mbakwe, a revered monarch in Ohuhu.

During the visit, the lawmaker informed the traditional ruler that all arrangements were in place to begin construction on the high court, emphasizing its importance for the development and accessibility of justice in the region.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Akaliro reiterated his unwavering commitment to delivering impactful projects that positively transform the lives of Ndi-Ohuhu and the state at large.
He highlighted some of his ongoing initiatives, including the reconstruction of the Afor-Umuda Market in Ofeme, educational scholarships, and human capacity development programs.

This high court project is not just about building infrastructure; it is about empowering our people and ensuring access to justice,” Hon. Akaliro stated.
“I am committed to making Ohuhu a community that works for everyone.”

HRH Eze Nzewata Mbakwe expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for bringing such a significant project to his domain.
The monarch assured Hon. Akaliro, the supervising ministry, and the contractors of his and his people's unwavering support to ensure the timely and successful completion of the project.

This project is a milestone for our community, and I commend Hon. Akaliro for his visionary leadership. Nkwoegwu and Ohuhuland will fully support this initiative,” Eze Mbakwe said.

The high court project is expected to strengthen the judicial system in Ohuhuland, reduce the burden of traveling long distances for legal matters, and contribute to the overall development of the community.

Hon. Akaliro’s efforts reflect his broader vision of delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents and ensuring a prosperous and inclusive future for Ohuhuland.
