The annual International Men’s Day is a global celebration of the positive impact men make in their families, communities, and workplaces.
This year’s IMD resonated deeply with the IWU President. He highlighted the distinct qualities of Igbo men, whose enduring spirit, industriousness, and leadership continue to inspire generations.

Igbo men are the backbone of our society,” Sir Nnanta declared.
They exemplify courage, wisdom, and innovation, remaining steadfast in the face of challenges.
"As we celebrate International Men’s Day, let us honor these qualities and reaffirm our commitment to empowering our men, supporting their mental health, and fostering a society where they thrive.”

The IWU President also underscored the importance of mentorship and unity among men, especially within the Igbo community.
He praised the resilience of Igbo men who, despite historical and ongoing challenges, have excelled globally in various fields, from business to politics, academia, and culture.

Nnanta urged policymakers and organizations to address the societal pressures men face and create supportive systems to help them succeed.

This day reminds us that our strength lies in our unity,” Gburugburu continued.
We must continue to mentor our young men and support our peers.”

Summarily, His Imperial Majesty, Nnanta said, “To all men, especially Igbo men, remember—you are the architects of hope, the custodians of culture, and the champions of progress. Let us continue to lead with integrity and compassion.”

International Men’s Day serves as a reminder of the vital role men play in building strong, harmonious communities. Under the leadership of visionaries like Amb. Sir Mishak Nnanta, the Igbo World Union remains dedicated to promoting unity, development, and the enduring legacy of Igbo men worldwide.
