Umuahia North Rep. Anderson Akaliro Urges Constituency Youths to Embrace Innovation in Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, and Technology

Umuahia, Abia State —

Hon. Anderson Akaliro, member representing Umuahia North in Abia State House of Assembly, has urged the youth of his constituency to harness the potential of emerging technologies, modern agriculture, and entrepreneurial ventures

Speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, Akaliro emphasized the importance of creative thinking and innovation in addressing the challenges facing the region.

Akaliro said, “Our young people must think outside the box. The world is changing rapidly, and we cannot afford to be left behind. We must embrace emerging technologies and leverage them to create new opportunities, particularly in agriculture and entrepreneurship.”

The lawmaker noted that agriculture remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economy and has the potential to provide sustainable livelihoods for millions. However, he stressed the need to modernize the sector through technology and innovative practices such as precision farming, hydroponics, and agritech startups.

Gone are the days when farming was seen as a job for the uneducated. Today, agriculture is powered by data, drones, and artificial intelligence. I encourage you all to explore these technologies and transform our communities,” Akaliro stated.

Akaliro however, called on local and state governments, as well as private stakeholders, to support youth empowerment efforts. He emphasized that collaboration is essential to provide the infrastructure, funding, and mentorship required to foster innovation and growth.

The government cannot do it alone. We need partnerships with private sector players, NGOs, and international organizations to ensure that our youths have access to resources and opportunities,” he stated.

Hon. Akaliro’s message ignites hope for a brighter and more prosperous future for Umuahia North. By encouraging the youth to think innovatively and leverage emerging technologies, he has set the stage for transformative growth in the region.
