Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji Condemns Amaechi’s Remarks, Pledges Igbo Support for Tinubu in 2027

Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Orji, has strongly criticized recent comments attributed to Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transport, regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Amaechi allegedly suggested the use of force to remove Tinubu from office by 2027, a statement Orji described as reckless, dangerous, and a direct threat to Nigeria’s democracy. He warned that such utterances could fuel political instability and incite unnecessary tension across the country.

Orji’s stance is in line with that of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, which has also expressed deep concerns over Amaechi’s remarks. Orji stressed that any call for unconstitutional means to unseat a sitting president is not only irresponsible but also a violation of democratic principles. He urged politicians to uphold the rule of law and respect the electoral process.

Furthermore, Orji reassured that the Igbo people will mobilize in support of Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, emphasizing the need for national cohesion and political stability. He called on political leaders to embrace dialogue and democratic principles rather than promoting divisive narratives.

As Nigeria approaches the next general election, Orji urged citizens to remain vigilant against inciting rhetoric and focus on nation-building, economic growth, and political stability. He emphasized that the unity of the country should be prioritized over personal or sectional interests.
