SEDC: Hon. Akaliro Applauds Tinubu, Ben Kalu’s Contributions, Calls for Regional Cooperation

Umuahia, Abia State –

The member representing Umuahia North Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, has commended the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), hailing it as a crucial step towards addressing the developmental challenges of the region.

He also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his foresight in supporting initiatives that promote growth and stability in the South East.

Speaking to journalists in Umuahia, Hon. Akaliro expressed his optimism about the commission’s impact on infrastructure, and economic revitalization.
He noted that with the right leadership and sustained government backing, the SEDC would serve as a catalyst for long-overdue development in the region.

"The South East Development Commission is a significant achievement that will drive the transformation we have long desired in our region.
I commend President Tinubu for recognizing the need for such an initiative and ensuring its realization. This commission, if properly implemented, will tackle infrastructural decay, and economic stagnation, which have been major concerns for our people," Hon. Akaliro stated.

The lawmaker further emphasized the importance of collaboration among political leaders in the region to ensure the commission’s success.
He urged stakeholders to set aside political differences and work collectively towards a common goal.

"This is not the time for political division; it is time to come together and secure the future of the South East.
Development knows no political party, and we must all unite to maximize the opportunities presented by the SEDC.
If we fail to work together, we will only be shortchanging our people and delaying progress," he added.

Akaliro also took a moment to recognize the efforts of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, whose dedication to regional development, he said, has been instrumental in the realization of the SEDC.

"Without Hon. Ben Kalu’s sincere and painstaking contribution to the development of the region, we will not be talking about SEDC today. These are the kind of men from the South East the President has surrounded himself with, and I must commend His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for that foresight," Hon. Akaliro remarked.

He further called on other political leaders in the South East to rally behind such efforts, stating that collective support would ensure the success of development initiatives.

"I am pleased to join forces with these great men to continue promoting the efforts of the President in reviving hope for the citizens of this great country. I want to plead with all the political leaders from the South East to join hands together with these great men, irrespective of your political affiliation.
Let’s work with them to make this region a place to be," he urged.

Hon. Anderson Akaliro reaffirmed his commitment to his constituency, stating that he would continue to advocate for policies and projects that would improve the lives of his people.

As the South East Development Commission takes shape, stakeholders across the region are watching closely, with the hope that it will deliver tangible results and usher in a new era of progress for the region.
