Speaking at the official launch of the reconstruction of two critical roads in Umuahia North Local Government Area, the 4.32-kilometre Orpet-Umuafai-Lodu-Ahiaeke Road and the 3.79-kilometre Ahiaeke-Okwuta-Bende Road, totaling 8.11 kilometres, Aguocha expressed gratitude for the governor’s efforts in improving road networks.

His administration has shown that governance is about service to the people, and the commencement of these road projects is a testament to his dedication to the welfare of Abians.”

The federal lawmaker seized the moment to appeal to Gov Otti for the reconstruction of the Ofeke-Azueke-Ndume-Ibeku road, a major agricultural belt route that connects Umuahia North to Bende and Ikwuano LGAs.
He emphasized the road’s deplorable condition and the urgent need for government intervention to support farmers, businesses, and commuters who rely on it daily.

To drive economic growth, we must invest in infrastructure, and this particular road is vital for our agricultural sector,” Aguocha stated.
I am glad that Dr Alex Otti listens to the cries of the people and takes action where it matters most.”

To the delight of many, Aguocha announced that his plea did not fall on deaf ears. Gov Alex Otti, acknowledging the lawmaker’s request, responded positively and committed to addressing the road’s rehabilitation in due time.

I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, for his swift response and approval to my appeal,” Aguocha added.
“This is the kind of leadership Abia needs, one that listens, engages, and delivers on promises.”

The development marks another milestone in the state’s ongoing infrastructural transformation under Governor Otti’s administration, as leaders continue to push for enhanced road connectivity and economic growth in Abia State.
