"I am ready to Sign Bail Conditions for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu", Obi Aguoacha declares, Reaffirms March 21 Court Appearance

March 14, 2025 -

The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has expressed his readiness to sign the bail conditions of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Aguocha made this declaration while speaking on Standpoint, a popular audience participatory program on Rapid 96.5 FM, where he emphasized the need for justice and fair hearing in Kanu’s ongoing legal battle.

He reaffirmed that Kanu is set to appear before a new judge on March 21, 2025, for the hearing of his case and bail application.

The federal lawmaker, who has been vocal about the need for a peaceful resolution to the issues surrounding Kanu’s detention, urged the Nigerian government not to oppose the anticipated bail request.

According to him, granting Kanu bail will not only be a step towards justice but also serve as a pathway to addressing the broader concerns of peace, dialogue, and national unity.

Aguocha recounted the numerous efforts made so far by various stakeholders to facilitate Kanu’s release, stressing that the legal system must ensure that due process is followed.
He reiterated his commitment to standing by Kanu, asserting that it is his moral and political responsibility to support the cause of justice.

Beyond his advocacy for Kanu’s release, Hon. Aguocha also took time to commend the administration of Gov. Alex Otti, describing it as a transformative force in Abia State.
He hailed the governor’s approach to governance, stating that the positive changes and progressive policies being implemented under his leadership have repositioned the state for sustainable development.

He further expressed confidence that Gov Otti will complete two terms in office, citing his impactful policies and the foundation he has laid in various sectors as reasons why Abians will support his re-election.
According to him, Otti’s leadership has brought a new narrative of accountability, transparency, and infrastructural development, making him one of the best things to happen to Abia State in recent times.
