The Jigawa State Government on Monday paid a heartfelt tribute to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari with a special prayer session held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Dutse.

The session, which formed part of the State Executive Council meeting, was attended by top government officials, Islamic clerics (ulamas), and dignitaries from across the state, who gathered to honour the memory of the late leader.

As the nation continues to mourn Buhari’s passing, the people of Jigawa State stand in solidarity with his family, reflecting the deep respect and admiration many Nigerians have for the former president. His legacy, the state government noted, will continue to inspire future generations.

Governor Umar Namadi presided over the special prayer session. He led the state executive council members, ulamas, and other government officials in paying their last respects to the departed leader, praying for the forgiveness of his sins and the granting of eternal peace to his soul.

Speaking briefly during the special prayer session, Namadi described the late Buhari as a leader who dedicated his life to public service and the development of Nigeria. “The late President Buhari was a committed leader who worked tirelessly for the progress of our nation”, Namadi said.

The governor prayed that Allah would grant the late President Buhari Aljana Firdausi and provide his family and loved ones with the strength to bear this great loss. He also urged Nigerians to come together during this difficult time.

While leading the special prayer session, the Special Adviser to Jigawa State Governor on Religious Affairs, Malam Mujittaba Yakubu, noted that in Islam, when a leader passes away, it is a loss for the entire nation. “The demise of a leader is a great loss for the nation, and we must come together to support each other during this difficult time,” he said.

The leader of the prayer congregation, Malam Mujittaba, recited verses from the Holy Quran, seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the late President. “We pray that Allah grants the late President Buhari Aljana Firdausi and provides his family with comfort and strength,” he prayed.
