In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, the management of the newspaper described Hon. Aguocha as a shining example of people-centered representation whose impact in just two years at the House of Representatives has been remarkable.
The paper highlighted his strides in the areas of education, youth empowerment, and advocacy for equity as testaments to his dedication to service.
“Happy Birthday to Hon. Obi Aguocha, a leader who has redefined representation in our constituency,” the statement read.
“In just two years, he has empowered his people, championed education, and raised his voice for the constituency at the national stage. His work remains a beacon of hope for those who believe in transparent, accountable, and responsive leadership.”
The paper further prayed for God’s strength and wisdom upon the federal lawmaker, urging him to continue his vision of lifting his constituency and by extension, the state and nation, through purposeful leadership.
The felicitation also drew attention to Aguocha’s educational support initiatives, which have benefited hundreds of students across his constituency, his intervention in community development, as well as his constant advocacy for fairness, equity, and justice within Nigeria’s democratic space.
Significantly, the National Sunrise Newspaper acknowledged Hon. Aguocha’s unwavering advocacy for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The paper noted that Aguocha has consistently maintained that resolving Kanu’s detention through political and diplomatic means is critical to fostering peace, healing, and stability in the South East and across Nigeria.
“Hon. Aguocha has continued to demonstrate that leadership is not about self but about service,” the paper noted.
“His voice in the National Assembly has been consistent in defending the interests of his people while pushing for national reforms that promote unity, equity, and justice.”
The message concluded with a call for constituents to rally around the lawmaker as he continues to pursue projects and policies that would guarantee a better future for generations to come.
