Four suspects linked to cattle rustling and motor vehicle theft have been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command in the Hadejia Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam.

According to him, “On September 18, operatives attached to the Hadejia Area Command, working with local vigilantes called Yanbulala, arrested Isah Muhammad, 47, of Kirakasamma LGA, caught with two bulls suspected to be stolen.”

Adam said the police promptly recovered the two bulls and had begun preliminary investigations while intensifying efforts to track down the suspect’s accomplices.

Similarly, on September 17, around 11:30 am, the police arrested three suspected car thieves in connection with the theft of a Daihatsu vehicle in Hadejia LGA.

The suspects were named as Amadu Dan Zaria, 45; Salisu Ya’u, 25; and Musa Muhammad, 30 – all residents of Hadejia LGA, Adam confirmed.

Adam quoted the Jigawa State Commissioner of Police’s assurance that patrols, raids, and surveillance would intensify to rid the state of criminal activities.

“The command calls on the public to provide credible information to assist police in crime prevention and detection,” he added.

Also, the police spokesperson urged residents in the state to remain law-abiding and security-conscious to help maintain peace.

However, the police command therefore reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

Accordingly, the Jigawa police command reminded the public that supporting law enforcement is key to sustainable security improvements.
