Abia State |September 22, 2025 —

The Member representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has called on Nigerians, especially his constituents, to keep Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in their thoughts and prayers as the court reschedules his no-case submission ruling.

The ruling, which was earlier slated for Friday, 10th October 2025, has now been brought forward to Friday, 26th September 2025. The development has reignited discussions around the prolonged detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the implications of the case for peace and justice in the South-East.

Reacting to the change in date, Hon. Aguocha emphasized the need for calm, faith, and solidarity among the people.
The court has rescheduled the no-case submission ruling of our dear brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to the 26th of September 2025. While we await this date, I urge everyone to keep him in our thoughts and prayers,” he said.

The lawmaker further noted that the case has gone beyond legal arguments to become a matter of unity, hope, and justice for many people in the South-East.

This is not just a legal proceeding; it is a test of fairness and equity in our nation. As representatives of our people, we must continue to stand for justice and the rule of law, believing that truth will prevail,” Aguocha added.

Hon. Aguocha reaffirmed his commitment to continue advocating for peace and reconciliation, stating that the ultimate goal is to restore trust between the government and the people.
Our region has suffered greatly from mistrust and unrest. My prayer is that this case will be handled in a way that promotes healing, reconciliation, and a new sense of belonging for Ndi Igbo within Nigeria,” he concluded.

The court’s decision to bring forward the ruling date is expected to attract heightened attention in the coming days, as stakeholders, legal analysts, and observers await the outcome with keen interest.
