Hon. Obi Aguocha Pens Emotional Birthday Message to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS Custody

Hon Obi Aguocha, the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has penned a heartfelt birthday tribute to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

In his message, Aguocha described Kanu as a courageous son of Igboland, whose sacrifices and struggles remain etched in the hearts of his people. 
He emphasized that even in detention, Kanu continues to embody the spirit of resilience and the unyielding quest for justice, equity, and fairness.

Today, as you mark another year, my thoughts and prayers are with you,” Aguocha wrote. 
You remain a symbol of courage and the aspirations of millions who yearn for a better tomorrow. May God strengthen you, grant you good health, and hasten the day of your freedom.”

The lawmaker reiterated his call for dialogue, political solution, and reconciliation, stressing that Kanu’s release would contribute significantly to peace-building and national cohesion. 
He further urged the federal government to embrace justice and fairness in addressing the issues surrounding Kanu’s continued detention.
