Praises, as Obi Aguocha Secures Renovation of Amuzukwu Secondary School

The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has again demonstrated his commitment to educational development with the successful attraction of a major infrastructure upgrade at Amuzukwu Secondary School, Umuahia North LGA.

The project, captured under the UBEC/ABSUBEB 2023 Intervention Programme, includes the full renovation, rehabilitation, and partial reconstruction of a storey-building block comprising a school hall and six classrooms.

According to details displayed on the project signpost, the intervention is being executed by the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), while Robinagra Resources Ltd serves as the contractor. The Physical Planning Department of ASUBEB, Umuahia, is supervising the work. Residents of Amuzukwu community and school stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as timely and impactful.

Speaking on the project, Hon. Aguocha said the rehabilitation of Amuzukwu Secondary School was long overdue, noting that several public schools in the constituency require urgent structural improvements.
Education remains the strongest foundation for development, and our children deserve to learn in safe and conducive environments,” he stated. “This project at Amuzukwu Secondary School is part of our broader effort to ensure that no child in our constituency is left to study in dilapidated buildings.”

Aguocha further explained that his focus on educational projects aligns with his commitment to human capital development. He emphasized that functional infrastructure is essential for improving learning outcomes.
When classrooms are secure, ventilated, and well-equipped, teachers perform better and students become more motivated,” he noted. “My mandate is to champion the needs of my people, and education will always be a top priority because it shapes the future.”

The federal lawmaker also expressed appreciation to UBEC and ASUBEB for approving the intervention and ensuring its inclusion in the 2023 project cycle. He urged the contracting firm to adhere to high standards and deliver a durable structure that will serve the school for decades.
Our expectation is simple,” he said. “Quality work, timely delivery, and full compliance with specifications. The children of Amuzukwu deserve nothing less.”

Aguocha encouraged community members to participate in monitoring the project to ensure transparency and accountability. He reiterated that public projects belong to the people, and their involvement helps prevent abandonment or substandard execution.
“I urge the community to take ownership. This is your school, your children’s future, and your right as citizens to demand excellence,” he said.

The rehabilitation work, once completed, is expected to transform the learning conditions at Amuzukwu Secondary School and support the academic aspirations of hundreds of students.
Constituents have commended Hon. Aguocha for consistently attracting developmental projects and for maintaining a strong focus on education, community welfare, and infrastructural renewal.
