Popular Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele-Bello is smiling to the bank with good news about the record breaking achievement she earned courtesy of her movie, Omo Ghetto.
Her latest movie project, ‘Omo Ghetto: The saga’ has emerged as the highest grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
The new feat is coming few weeks after the film ranked among top movies of the year 2020.
An excited Funke took to her Instagram page to reveal that the star-studded film has just shattered existing box office records.
The actress shared a video with the caption: “OMO GHETTO (THE SAGA) is the HIGHEST GROSSING NOLLWOOD MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!. This is how we react to this good news.”
The record was previously held by The Wedding Part (One); another star-studded movie from the camp of top media executive, Mo Abudu’s Ebonylife Films. The Wedding Party which was directed by Kemi Adetiba garnered N453,000,000 from cinema runs.
Omo Ghetto broke the record with an earning that currently stands at N468,036,300.
Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have poured in for Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, JJC Skillz, who are both behind the success of the movie.
