Abia Lawmaker, Hon. Obioma Seeks Help for Victims of Sexual Abuse and Violence

Today, Saturday 18th May 2024, as the world marks International Day for the Prevention and Fight against Sexual Abuse and Violence, Abia State House of Assembly member, Hon. Emeka Obioma, called on the government, civil society organizations, and individuals to join forces in supporting victims of sexual abuse and violence.

Hon. Obioma, representing Umuahia South Constituency, emphasized the need for collective action to prevent and combat sexual abuse and violence, which affects many lives in Abia State and Nigeria as a whole.

"We must ensure that victims receive the necessary support, care, and justice," Hon. Obioma said. "No one should suffer in silence or be left to face the trauma alone. We must work together to create a safe and supportive environment for all."

The lawmaker urged victims to speak out and seek help, promising to collaborate with relevant organizations to provide resources and support for those affected.

Let us join forces to prevent sexual abuse and violence, support survivors, and create a safer and more compassionate society for all.
