Hon. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency has lauded His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for his leadership and dedication in commissioning the Ossah 6-lane Road Expansion project.
The grand inauguration is scheduled for today, May 29, 2024.
This significant infrastructure project extends the road from four to six lanes, covering a stretch of 3.5 kilometers from the Abia Tower on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway to á»kpara Square in Umuahia. And the road expansion project showcases high structural standards with its 200-millimeter base and 40-millimeter wearing course, ensuring durability and longevity.
In addition to the widened lanes, the project features well-designed drainage systems and sidewalks, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. By expanding this vital artery, the initiative aims to improve connectivity and traffic flow, while also contributing to the beautification of the state capital.
Hon. Barr. Anderson Akaliro's commendation highlights the positive impact of the project (which is in his constituency) on the local community, emphasizing the government's commitment to infrastructure development and urban improvement.
"The governor has demonstrated high sense of infrastructural development and always focusing on vital projects to better the lives of Abians" he said.
"This road project has put his name on the sands of time and he will always be remembered", Akaliro concluded.
As Umuahia prepares for the official inauguration, residents anticipate the benefits of the enhanced roadway in facilitating easier and more efficient transportation.
