In a heartfelt message, Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Obioma, has extended his profound appreciation to the People's Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) and the people of Abia State on the eve of the commissioning of the Ossah 6-Lane Road Expansion Project.
The inauguration however, is set for today, May 29, 2024.
The said Ossah Road, now expanded from four lanes to six, stretches 3.5 kilometers from the Abia Tower on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway to the Iconic Okpara Square in Umuahia.
"This transformative project represents a significant milestone in Abia State's journey toward progress and prosperity" Hon. Obioma said.
"This expansion not only enhances connectivity but also beautifies the state capital, reflecting the visionary leadership and dedication of Governor Otti’s administration" he continued.
The lawmaker also stated that Governor Otti's commitment to providing critical infrastructure aligns with his administration's rebuilding agenda for Abia State.
"The project's high standards, including a 200-millimeter base and a 40-millimeter wearing course, along with well-designed drainage systems and sidewalks, ensure safety and convenience for both pedestrians and motorists" he opined.
Hon. Emeka Obioma further expressed pride in witnessing the completion of one side of this remarkable road, highlighting its potential to enhance vehicular movement, boost economic activities, and improve the quality of life for Abia’s citizens.
He lauded the extension of the dualization beyond the Tower to the Abia boundary with Imo at Onuimo River, a move expected to decongest Aba Town and facilitate seamless traffic flow.
The house of Assembly Chief whip also extended his Gratitude to the traditional rulers of Ossah communities for their unwavering support to him emphasizing the collective effort in paving the way for progress.
He expressed confidence that the Ossah 6-Lane Road will catalyze further development across Abia State.
As the state prepares to celebrate this achievement,
Hon. Obioma called for continued efforts to build a safer and more compassionate society.
"The Ossah 6-Lane Road stands as a beacon of hope, resilience, and unity for the people of Abia State" he concluded.
