President of Igbo World Union (IWU) Condemns Deadly Attack on Military Checkpoint in Aba


In a tragic turn of events, unknown gunmen attacked a military checkpoint at Obikabia junction in the ọgbọ Hill area of Aba, Abia State yesterday, Thursday May 30, 2024 resulting in the deaths of four soldiers. 

The violent incident has drawn widespread condemnation, including a strong rebuke from the President of the Igbo World Union (IWU), His Imperial Majesty Sir Mishak Nnanta (KJW) Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum. 

The President of the IWU, in a public statement, condemned the attack as a senseless act of violence that threatens the peace and security of the region. 
He expressed his deep condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and called for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

"This attack on our brave soldiers is not only a tragic loss for their families but also an affront to the security and stability of our community," he said. 
"We urge the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are held accountable."

His Imperial Majesty also emphasized the importance of unity and vigilance in the face of such threats, urging citizens to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities.

The attack at Obikabia junction has heightened concerns about the safety of military personnel and the general public in the area. Security agencies have increased their presence and are conducting extensive operations to track down the assailants.
