Hon. Barr Anderson Akaliro, the representative of Umuahia North Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 26, paid a visit to the family of Mr Onyebuchi Osuoha in Mgbagoro village, Umuagu autonomous community, following the amputation of their 2-year-old daughter’s leg due to alleged medical negligence.
Accompanied by Mrs Meg, the SA on Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Anderson Akaliro expressed his heartfelt sympathy and support to the Osuoha family during this challenging time. And in a gesture of support, the lawmaker provided the family with a cash donation and presented Mr. Osuoha with a motorcycle. The motorcycle is intended to be used for commercial purposes, offering the family a means to generate income and alleviate their financial burdens.
Hon. Akaliro emphasized the importance of community support and government responsibility in ensuring the well-being of all citizens, particularly in times of crisis. He vowed to follow up on the issue of medical negligence and work towards preventing similar incidents in the future.
