ABHA Chief Whip Emeka Obioma Condemns Killing of Policemen, Calls for Vigilance

The member representing Umuahia South Constituency and Chief Whip in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Tommy Obioma, has expressed sorrow and condemnation over the recent killing of two policemen at Opobo Junction, Aba.

In a statement, Hon. Emeka Obioma extended his condolences to the Inspector General of Police, the state government, and the families of the victims. He described the incident as a "rude shock" and a "barbaric act" that is "unacceptable in its totality."

The lawmaker urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility. He also called on the State commissioner of Police to ensure that the families of the fallen policemen receive adequate support.

Obioma concluded by offering prayers for the families of the deceased and urging security agencies not to be deterred in their duties.

This incident comes barely a month after the killing of soldiers at Obikabia Junction, also in Aba, and has raised concerns about the safety of security personnel in the state.
