Abia Lawmaker, Emeka Obioma, Calls For Peaceful Coexistence Between Farmers And Herders


The member representing Umuahia South Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Tommy Obioma, has urged farmers and herders in the state to embrace peaceful coexistence.

Obioma made this call during a recent stakeholders' meeting, emphasizing the importance of harmony between the two groups for the state's economic development and food security.

He commended Governor Alex Otti for setting up a committee to address the conflicts between farmers and herders, describing it as a "step in the right direction."

The committee, inaugurated by the Abia State government, aims to promote peaceful coexistence, identify and address the root causes of conflicts, and develop strategies for conflict prevention, mediation, and resolution.

The Lawmaker expressed optimism that the committee's efforts will yield positive results, leading to a more harmonious and prosperous Abia State.
He encouraged farmers and herders to work together, fostering mutual understanding and respect, and to seek amicable solutions to their differences.

By promoting peaceful coexistence, Hon Obioma believes that Abia State can become a model for other states, showcasing the benefits of harmony and cooperation between farmers and herders.
