Michael Okpara Leadership Award: Igbo World Union Congratulates Gov Otti, Ben Kalu, Others Urges Emulation of Quality Leadership

The Igbo World Union (IWU) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and other prominent sons of Abia State for their recent recognition with the prestigious Michael Okpara Leadership Award

The IWU emphasized the importance of this recognition, noting it as a testament to the exemplary leadership qualities demonstrated by these individuals.

The Michael Okpara Leadership Award, named after the revered first Premier of Eastern Nigeria, Dr. Michael Okpara, honors those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of society, particularly in the areas of governance, social justice, and community development. 

Gov. Otti and Deputy Speaker Kalu were recognized alongside other notable figures, for their outstanding service to the state and the nation.

In a statement by the President-General of the Igbo World Union, His Imperial Majesty Amb. Sir Dr Mishak Nnanta, KJW, Ksm, JP, Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum, the organization praised the awardees for their dedication to the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability. 
Sir Mishak Nnanta noted that their leadership has not only brought development and progress to Abia State but also served as an inspiration to leaders across the Igbo nation and beyond.

"We are immensely proud of our illustrious sons who have been honored with the Michael Okpara Leadership Award. Governor Alex Otti, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and others have shown that leadership is about service to the people. Their commitment to improving the lives of the citizens of Abia State is commendable," Nnanta stated.

The IWU called on other leaders in the region to emulate the awardees by prioritizing the welfare of the people, promoting unity, and fostering sustainable development. 
The organization also urged the leaders to continue upholding the legacy of Dr. Michael Okpara, whose visionary leadership remains a guiding light for the Igbo people.

Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum further emphasized the need for unity among the leaders and people of Abia State, stating that collective efforts are crucial in addressing the challenges facing the state and the wider Igbo community. He expressed confidence that with leaders like Governor Otti and Deputy Speaker Kalu at the helm, Abia State is poised for greater achievements in the future.

The Michael Okpara Leadership Award ceremony, which took place in Abuja, the capital City of Nigeria, drew notable dignitaries and leaders from across the nation,
