Abia Joins Global Community to Mark World Clean-Up Day, Umuahia South Rep, Emeka Obioma Urges Support

Umuahia, Abia State -
Abia State has joined the global community to commemorate World Clean-Up Day, observed internationally on September 20. The event aims to promote unity and action towards tackling the world's environmental challenges.

Umuahia South Rep, Hon. Emeka Obioma, has urged Abia residents to support the state government's initiatives towards environmental cleanliness and public health.

"World Clean-Up Day is a call to action for all Abians to take ownership of their environment. Let us work together to create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Abia," Hon. Obioma stated.

The Abia State Government has implemented various initiatives to enhance waste management and environmental cleanliness. These efforts align with Gov. Alex Otti's administration's vision for a cleaner and more sustainable Abia.

The importance of a clean and healthy environment cannot be overstated, as it is key to the well-being of our citizens.
Prior to this administration, the cities of Aba and Umuahia were notorious for being overrun by waste—an unsightly and dangerous situation that threatened the health of Ndi Abia," Obioma stated.

"Cleanliness is essential to our well-being and economic growth. I commend the state government's efforts and encourage all residents to participate in keeping our environment clean," he added.

World Clean-Up Day is a global movement that brings together individuals, organizations, and governments to tackle the world's environmental challenges. Abia's participation demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

Residents are encouraged to participate in clean-up activities, report environmental concerns, and support initiatives promoting environmental cleanliness.

As Abia joins the global community to mark World Clean-Up Day, Hon. Obioma's call to action reminds citizens of their crucial role in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
