Today marks the International Day of Peace, a global celebration promoting unity, tolerance, and nonviolence.
In commemoration of this significant day, Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, member representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has called on all Abians to renounce violence and embrace peace.
In the same vein, he urged his constituents in Amankalu lgbere to adopt Peace building approaches which are panacea for unity, progress, and development.
"Peace is the foundation upon which any society is built. Without peace, there can be no development, no progress, and no harmony. I urge my constituents and all residents of Abia State to shun violence and embrace peace," Hon. Ibekwe emphasized.
According to the Lawmaker, violence only leads to destruction and retrogression, while peace fosters understanding, cooperation, and collective growth.
"We must learn to resolve our differences through dialogue and peaceful means, rather than resorting to violence. This is the only way we can build a better future for ourselves and our children."
Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe also highlighted his commitment to promoting peace and development in his constituency.
"As a lawmaker, I have made it my priority to ensure that my constituents live in peace and harmony. I have initiated various projects and programs aimed at promoting community development and enhancing the well-being of my people."
"As we commemorate the International Day of Peace, I call on all residents to reflect on the importance of peace in our daily lives. Let us strive to create a society where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected. Together, we can build a more peaceful and harmonious Abia," he concluded.
