International Day of Peace: IWU President, Sir Mishak Nnanta Advocates for Peaceful Coexistence

In commemoration of the International Day of Peace, The President-General of the Igbo World Union, His Imperial Majesty Amb Sir Dr. Mishak Nnanta, (KJW, Ksm, JP), Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum, has called for peaceful coexistence among Nigeria's diverse ethnic groups
This year's celebration, held on September 21, underscores the importance of unity, tolerance, and nonviolence in promoting national development.

"Peace is the foundation upon which any society is built. Without peace, there can be no development, no progress, and no harmony. As we celebrate the International Day of Peace, I urge all Nigerians to embrace peace and work towards a united and prosperous future," Sir Nnanta emphasized.

According to His Imperial Majesty, Nigeria's progress hinges on the ability of its citizens to live in harmony, respecting one another's differences.
"We must learn to resolve our differences through dialogue and peaceful means, rather than resorting to violence. This is the only way we can build a more harmonious and prosperous society for all."

The Igbo World Union has been at the forefront of promoting peace and understanding among Nigerians. Through various initiatives, the organization has brought together community leaders, youth groups, and local authorities to foster dialogue and cooperation.

Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum highlighted the importance of community engagement and participation in promoting peace.
"We must involve our communities in peace-building efforts, ensuring that everyone has a stake in maintaining peace and stability. By working together, we can overcome the challenges facing our nation."

Nigeria faces numerous security challenges, including the Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, and farmer-herder conflicts. However, The IWU President remains optimistic that peaceful coexistence is achievable through collective effort.

In the words of Sir Mishak Nnanta, "Peace is the foundation upon which any society is built. Without peace, there can be no development, no progress, and no harmony."

"As Nigerians, we must recognize our diversity as a strength, not a weakness. By embracing our differences and working together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come," Nnanta concluded.

The United Nations has also emphasized the importance of peace and sustainability, with the President of the General Assembly highlighting the need for a culture of peace that embraces education, social development, human rights, and international security.

As Nigeria joins the global community to commemorate the International Day of Peace, Sir Mishak Nnanta's call to action serves as a reminder that peace requires collective effort and commitment. By working together, Nigerians can create a more harmonious and prosperous society for all.
