Petrol Price: Be Transparent with Nigerians - Igbo World Union Tasks NNPC, Dangote

The Igbo World Union (IWU) has called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Dangote Refinery to be sincere and transparent in their pricing mechanism for petroleum products.

IWU President-General, His Imperial Majesty, Amb Sir Dr. Mishak Nnanta (KJW, Ksm, JP), Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum made this plea in a statement, emphasizing the need for fairness and clarity in the pricing system.

"The IWU is concerned about the persistent fluctuations in petrol prices, which have severe implications for Nigerian citizens. We urge the NNPC and Dangote Refinery to prioritize transparency and accountability in their pricing mechanisms," Sir Nnanta said.

Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum noted that Nigerians deserve to know the actual cost of production and distribution to ensure fair pricing.

"The Dangote Refinery's potential to boost local refining capacity is commendable. However, this must be accompanied by transparent pricing to benefit the Nigerian people," Sir Nnanta added.

Industry experts have attributed price fluctuations to global market dynamics and production costs. However, the IWU stressed that Nigerian consumers should not bear the brunt of inefficiencies in the supply chain.

As Nigeria's petroleum sector continues to evolve, the IWU's call for transparency and accountability resonates with many Nigerians.
The organization's advocacy for fair pricing and local refining capacity aims to promote economic growth and alleviate the burden on citizens.

The call for transparency however, underscores the need for stakeholders to prioritize Nigerian consumers' interests.
