In a significant political shift, Hon. Anderson Akaliro, a member of the Abia State House of Assembly representing Umuahia North, has warmly welcomed Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency representative, Hon. Chris Nkwonta, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Akaliro praised Nkwonta’s defection as a major boost to the APC’s standing in Abia State, citing it as a positive step for the party’s growth and influence.
He expressed confidence that Nkwonta’s experience, leadership, and strong political base would enhance the APC’s chances in future elections.
“Nkwonta’s decision to join the APC signifies a growing trust in the party’s vision and direction. This is a victory not just for the APC but for the people of Ukwa East and Ukwa West, as we work together to deliver meaningful governance,” Akaliro stated.
