Hon. Anderson Akaliro Congratulates Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu on CON Award

The Member representing Umuahia North Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Honorable Anderson Akaliro, Esq., has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, on his recent conferment as Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON)

This prestigious honor was announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his national broadcast in Abuja, marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hon. Akaliro praised the Deputy Speaker for his exceptional leadership and dedication to national service. "Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the unity, progress, and prosperity of Nigeria. This well-deserved honor of the Commander of the Order of the Niger is a testament to his tireless efforts in advancing legislative reforms and promoting the welfare of the Nigerian people," Akaliro said.

The Abia State lawmaker further emphasized the Deputy Speaker’s significant contributions to the House of Representatives and his influence in fostering legislative excellence. 

"His leadership has been instrumental in shaping critical national policies, and he continues to be a shining example of effective governance. I have no doubt that this recognition will inspire him to continue his selfless service to our great nation," Akaliro added.

Hon. Anderson Akaliro also applauded President Tinubu’s selection of worthy individuals for national honors. He noted that the inclusion of other distinguished leaders, such as Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, further highlights the importance of recognizing excellence in public service.
