OziomaChi Condemns Brutal Murder of Couple in Etiti Ulo, Bende LGA, Calls for Swift Justice


Bende, Abia State – 
In a tragic development that has shocked the local community, Hon. Nnamdi Ibekwe (Oziomachi), the House of Assembly member representing Bende North Constituency, has condemned the brutal murder of a couple in Etiti Ulo, a village in the Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

The couple, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Obinna Nwosu, were reportedly attacked and killed in their home late on Tuesday night. The gruesome incident has sparked widespread outrage in the community, with locals demanding justice for the victims. 
According to preliminary reports, the perpetrators are yet to be identified, and the motive behind the murder remains unclear.

Hon. Ibekwe, speaking to reporters on Thursday, expressed deep sadness and anger over the incident. 
He described the killing as "inhumane and barbaric," and called on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly in bringing the culprits to justice.

"I am horrified by the brutal murder of this innocent couple. This is a cowardly and despicable act that should not go unpunished. I call on the police and other security agencies to leave no stone unturned in apprehending those responsible for this heinous crime. Justice must be served for the sake of the victims and to restore peace in our community," Ibekwe said.

He also expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and promised to ensure that the matter receives full attention from authorities.

Community leaders have echoed similar sentiments, urging residents to remain calm as investigations continue. Many locals have expressed concerns about the increasing security challenges in the area, calling on the government to enhance security measures to prevent further violence.

Meanwhile, The Abia State Police Command confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and assured the public that all efforts are being made to track down those responsible.

Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chilaka in a statement on Thursday, confirmed the incident and said investigation had commenced to unravel those behind the dastardly act.

She wrote:”Yes, we received such report yesterday at Bende Divisional Headquarters. The crime scene has been visited, exhibits recovered. Bodies (of the victims) have been deposited at the mortuary, and investigation is ongoing.

As the community mourns the tragic loss of Mr. and Mrs. Nwosu, the call for swift justice continues to grow louder.
