The former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, has urged Christians to hold on to hope despite the current socio-economic challenges facing the nation.
Speaking during a special church service at the federal capital territory Abuja, Orji called on believers to remain steadfast in their faith, emphasizing that difficult times are not permanent.
The seasoned lawmaker, known for his compassionate leadership and community-focused initiatives, addressed the congregation, acknowledging the hardships many are currently experiencing due to economic instability, rising inflation, and general uncertainty.
He encouraged Christians to rely on their faith in God as a source of strength, reminding them that with resilience and trust in divine providence, brighter days are ahead.
"Times may be tough, but we serve a God who is mightier than our challenges," Orji said.
"Let us not lose faith or become discouraged. Instead, let's come together as a people, support one another, and trust that God will see us through these difficult periods."
During his address, Orji also stressed the importance of unity and compassion within the Christian community.
He urged the faithful to extend a helping hand to those in need, especially the less privileged who are most affected by the economic downturn. He noted that acts of kindness and solidarity could make a significant difference in the lives of others, reinforcing the values of love and charity that Christ exemplified.
One of the attendees, Mrs. Chinyere Nwankwo, shared her thoughts on Orji's message, saying, "His words have rekindled hope in us. In these times when many are losing faith, it is uplifting to hear such positive and reassuring messages from our leaders."
Rt Hon Chinedum Orji, who has consistently been a voice of support for his people, also took the opportunity to call for prayers for Nigeria, urging Christians to intercede for the nation’s leaders, that they may be guided by wisdom and integrity in their decision-making.
There was special prayer session asking for divine intervention and blessings for the people of Nigeria.
Orji's message comes at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with economic hardships, and it serves as a beacon of hope, reminding citizens of the enduring power of faith, unity, and resilience in overcoming adversity.
