MOUAU admits 4,781 students on 31st matriculation ceremony



Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, has formally admitted and sworn in 4,781 students into its various colleges during the institution's 31st matriculation ceremony.

Addressing the new students, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, urged them to uphold the core values of honesty, respect, and academic diligence. He emphasized the university’s foundational principles of integrity, respect, and a commitment to excellence, encouraging students to take their academics seriously and contribute to maintaining a conducive learning environment.

Professor Iwe also appealed to parents and guardians to ensure their wards settle outstanding fees promptly. He further called on university staff to demonstrate patriotism by dedicating themselves to creating a supportive environment for the students to focus on their academic pursuits.

The 4,781 students admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session comprise 4,600 undergraduate students, 150 Continuing Education students, and 31 postgraduate students. The matriculation ceremony marks the beginning of their academic journey at the prestigious institution.
