Umuahia, Abia State – June 3, 2025 —
Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, Member representing Umuahia North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for the successful inauguration of over 20,000 members of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), Abia State Chapter, describing it as “a monumental step toward sustainable grassroots transformation across the Southeast.”
Hon. Akaliro expressed his admiration and strong support through an official statement issued from his constituency office in Umuahia.
“I sincerely congratulate Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu for his visionary leadership in inaugurating the Renewed Hope Partners in Abia State,” Hon. Akaliro stated.
“This effort represents a practical step in ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only understood but felt at the grassroots level by everyday Nigerians.”
He emphasized that such a large-scale grassroots mobilization is unprecedented in recent Southeast political history and reflects a growing commitment to inclusive governance and people-centered development.
“Mobilizing over 20,000 committed partners is not an ordinary achievement. It sends a powerful message—that the time has come for a new kind of politics rooted in development, accountability, and empowerment,” he noted.
Hon. Akaliro also praised the Renewed Hope Agenda for its growing impact on national development, citing key economic achievements under President Tinubu’s leadership, including GDP growth, a drop in inflation, and increasing investor confidence.
“What we are witnessing is a steady transformation of Nigeria's economic landscape. From 3.84% GDP growth in the last quarter of 2024 to a significant decline in inflation, we are moving in the right direction,” he said. “What Ben Kalu has done with the RHP is to create a structure that will help carry this progress directly to our communities.”
He further lauded the recent establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) as a long-overdue move toward healing and rebuilding the region, stating that it aligns perfectly with the RHP’s objectives.
“The establishment of the SEDC nearly five decades after the civil war is a landmark achievement. It demonstrates that the federal government is listening and responding to the cries of the Southeast,” Akaliro remarked.
“The RHP platform now gives our people a voice and a vehicle for engagement and inclusion.”
Calling on the newly inaugurated RHP members to embrace their roles as change agents, Hon. Akaliro urged them to remain committed to the ideals of unity, service, and progress.
“I charge every Renewed Hope Partner to be a light in their communities. Be the link between the people and the government, and let your actions speak of hope, resilience, and transformation,” he concluded.
