“I am Committed to All-Inclusive Representation, Umuahia South Will Not Be Left Out Under My Watch” – Hon. Emeka Obioma

Umuahia, Abia State - June 23, 2025 –

The Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon Emeka Jacob Obioma in a bold reaffirmation of his Mandate, has reiterated his unwavering commitment to transparent, and holistic development of his constituency. 

Speaking, Hon. Obioma stressed that effective legislative representation must be people-oriented and development-driven. 

I was elected to serve, and service for me means visible progress, open communication, and honest leadership. I believe our people deserve to see how decisions are made and how public resources are utilized,” he said.

Hon. Obioma emphasized that his approach to governance is rooted in trust, integrity, and regular stakeholder engagement. According to him, “Transparency is not a favour to the people, it is their right. That is why I have made it a point of duty to periodically brief my constituents and remain accessible to them.”

In terms of development, Hon. Obioma highlighted several constituency projects already initiated, including road rehabilitation, educational support schemes, and healthcare outreach programs. He assured the public that even more initiatives are in the pipeline to address pressing infrastructural needs. 

We are making sure that our rural communities are not forgotten. From school renovations to clean water supply projects, we are investing in the basics that uplift lives,” he said.

The lawmaker also underscored his legislative contributions, which include sponsoring motions that address youth empowerment, education reform, and local economic growth. 

My job is not only to build roads but also to shape policies that will create jobs, reduce poverty, and promote equity. I am using the floor of the House to speak for our people and to push for laws that reflect their realities,” Obioma added.

Community leaders have also commended Hon. Obioma for his openness and accessibility. A youth leader, Mr. Chibuike Nnaji, noted, “This is the first time we are seeing a representative who not only delivers projects but also explains the process to us. Hon. Obioma is setting a new standard in transparency.

Reaffirming his vision, the lawmaker concluded, “My representation will remain a reflection of the will of the people. I will continue to lead with conscience and clarity, and I urge all of us to keep working together to build a better Umuahia South."
