One person lost his life, while five others were injured in an accident that occurred along the Oru section of the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Expressway.
According to the update, at about 4 p.m., a Toyota Previa, which was speeding, lost control and somersaulted into the bush.
The update noted that the impact of the crash resulted in the death of the victim.
It read, “A fatal RTA occurred at the old Faari filling station inbound Oru Junction, along the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Highway at about 16:00 hrs on Monday.
“It involved a black Toyota Previa with number plate APP 963 GU. Five people were injured, and one person died.
The update added that the body of the deceased was deposited at the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital, while the injured victims were taken to the Ola Oluwa Hospital, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
“Traffic was partially affected, but TRACE operatives and other sister agencies controlled the situation.
“The deceased was taken to the Ijebu–Ode State Hospital morgue, while the injured passengers were rescued at Ola Oluwa Hospital, Ago-Iwoye,” the update read.
PUNCH Metro reported on Tuesday that 10 people escaped death in two separate accidents that occurred along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and the Lusada-Agbara Expressway.
The TRACE spokesperson, who confirmed the accidents, blamed them on speeding.
