Omah Lay opens up on emotional struggles

Fans have expressed concern over the emotional state of singer Omah Lay, following a series of troubling social media posts where he opened up about his vulnerability and struggles with women.

The singer, known for his deeply emotional lyrics and introspective songwriting, took to his Instagram story earlier this week to share candid thoughts about his love life and emotional triggers.

In one of the posts, he wrote, “I like p****y a little too much.” He went on to admit that his former partners often take advantage of his emotional vulnerability. “My exes hit me up the most when I’m having a bad situation, when I’m most vulnerable. But I need God, not p****y but I’ll take it, ’cause yo, ah too fine,”* he said.

However, the ‘Understand’ crooner noted that he has since become aware of the manipulative pattern and has learned to resist it. “Since I became aware of the pattern, it doesn’t work anymore,” he added.

This is not the first time Omah Lay has spoken openly about his mental and emotional struggles. In an X (formerly Twitter) post from July 2022, he confessed that his depression worsened after a personal incident involving his therapist. “My depression became worse after I knack my therapist,” he wrote.

Over time, Omah Lay has become known for using his music as an outlet for his pain, often blending themes of heartbreak, loneliness, and self-reflection into what fans have come to describe as “Afro-depression.”
