Former Abia State governorship candidate and founder of the OAU foundation, Hon Onyekwere Akym Uche (OAU), has extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Abia State, calling on them to embrace the values of love, unity, and peaceful coexistence that define the yuletide season.

In his Christmas and New Year message issued to mark the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Akym Uche described the festive period as a time for sober reflection, gratitude to God, and renewed commitment to building a more harmonious and prosperous society. He noted that Christmas serves as a powerful reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, humility, and compassion, which are essential for both personal conduct and public life.

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I warmly greet Ndi Abia and indeed all Nigerians,” Akym said.
Christmas reminds us of the power of love, sacrifice, and unity, and it calls on us to live peacefully with one another, irrespective of our differences.”

OAU urged Abians to extend kindness to one another during the festive season, particularly to the less privileged, stressing that genuine celebration must be reflected in acts of generosity and empathy. According to him, the season presents an opportunity for individuals and families to heal divisions and strengthen communal bonds.

This season challenges us to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers,” he stated. “As we share joy with family and friends, let us remember those in need and ensure that the spirit of Christmas is felt in every home and community across Abia State.

He also called on citizens to remain hopeful and resilient despite prevailing economic and social challenges, assuring them that collective effort and steadfast faith would pave the way for a brighter future for the state.

Our state has endured many challenges, but I believe strongly in the resilience of Ndi Abia,” Onyekwere Akym said. “With unity of purpose, prayer, and commitment to the common good, we can overcome our difficulties and achieve the prosperity we all desire.”

Looking ahead to the New Year, OAU offered prayers for peace, good health, and economic advancement for Abia State and its people, urging leaders and citizens alike to place the interest of the people above personal considerations.

As we step into the New Year, I pray that God grants Abia State peace, prosperity, and purposeful leadership,” he added. “May the coming year bring renewed hope, opportunities for growth, and improved well-being for our people.”

He concluded by wishing Abians a joyful celebration and a fulfilling year ahead, while encouraging them to remain law-abiding and supportive of efforts aimed at fostering development across the state.
