The Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly and Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Jacob Obioma (Tommy), has extended warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Umuahia South and Ndị Abia at large, urging them to embrace the enduring values of love, unity, and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate the festive season.
In his Christmas and New Year message released to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, Hon. Obioma described the yuletide as a sacred period that calls for deep reflection on sacrifice, compassion, and collective responsibility toward one another and the society.
He noted that Christmas offers an opportunity for individuals and communities to renew their commitment to harmony and shared progress.
“As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I extend my warmest Christmas greetings to the good people of Umuahia South State Constituency and indeed all Ndị Abia,” Obioma said.
“Christmas is a season of love, sacrifice, and unity, and it reminds us of the importance of peaceful coexistence and compassion for one another.”
The lawmaker emphasized that the lessons of Christmas should not be limited to the festive period alone, but should serve as guiding principles in everyday life, especially in a time when communities face social and economic challenges. According to him, sustained unity and mutual respect remain essential for building a peaceful and prosperous Abia State.
“As we gather with family and loved ones, let us reflect on these values and uphold them beyond the festive period,” he stated. “Our collective progress as a people depends largely on our willingness to live in peace, support one another, and work together for the common good.”
Hon. Obioma also used the occasion to appreciate the people of Umuahia South for their unwavering support, prayers, and cooperation, noting that their encouragement continues to strengthen his resolve to serve diligently in the Abia State House of Assembly.
“I sincerely appreciate your continuous support, prayers, and cooperation,” he said. “Your trust and encouragement inspire me to remain steadfast in my commitment to effective representation and people-oriented legislation.”
Looking ahead to the New Year, the Chief Whip expressed optimism and offered prayers for renewed hope, good health, prosperity, and greater opportunities for individuals, families, and communities across the state.
“May the New Year bring renewed hope, good health, prosperity, and greater opportunities for us all,” Obioma prayed. “Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive, and progressive Abia State.”
