Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Orji, the former Speaker, Abia state house of Assembly, has called on Christian faithful to prioritize reconciliation and unity among their brethren.
Speaking on sunday, Orji emphasized the critical role of reconciliation in fostering a harmonious and united Christian community.
He highlighted the importance of forgiveness, understanding, and love as essential virtues that should guide the actions of every Christian. He noted that the teachings of Christ revolve around love and unity, urging believers to actively work towards resolving conflicts and differences within the community.
"We are all called to be peacemakers," Orji stated. "As Christians, it is our duty to promote reconciliation, not only within the church but also in our homes, workplaces, and society at large. By doing this, we live out the true essence of Christianity and contribute to building a stronger, more cohesive society."
Orji's message comes at a time when the Christians are increasingly challenged by divisions and conflicts. He stressed that unity is a powerful testimony to the world and that Christians must lead by example in promoting peace and reconciliation.
He also encouraged leaders within the church to take proactive steps in addressing grievances and fostering an environment where dialogue and understanding can thrive. According to him, a reconciled and United community is better equipped to face external challenges and to serve as a beacon of hope and love to others.
