Hon Emeka Obioma, ABHA Chief Whip and Umuahia South Rep, has urged Religious Leaders to focus more on preaching compassion and community development.
Speaking on Sunday, Obioma emphasized the need for religious leaders to go beyond spiritual and prosperity teachings and address the social and economic needs of their communities.
"While spiritual and financial growth is essential, Religious Leaders must also prioritize teachings that promote compassion, love, and community development," Hon Obioma said.
"We need to see more religious institutions engaging in community development projects, supporting the less privileged, and promoting unity and harmony among their members and the wider community."
The Umuahia South Rep commended those already engaged in community development initiatives, including healthcare and education programs.
"The church has a critical role to play in shaping the moral fabric of our society and driving community development," Obioma said.
"I urge all Religious organizations to rise up to this challenge and work towards making a positive difference in the lives of our people."
Conclusively he said, "We need to create a culture of community, where people are encouraged to look out for one another and work together to build a better society".
