The people of Umuahia North Constituency have expressed profound appreciation for their representative, Hon. Barr. Anderson Akaliro, lauding his commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots engagement.
The lawmaker, who has been vocal about justice, equity, and good governance, has continued to strengthen his bond with the people through active consultation and impactful representation in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Unlike politicians who become distant after elections, Hon. Akaliro has maintained a close relationship with his constituents, regularly visiting communities, holding town hall meetings, and soliciting direct input on governance.
His inclusive approach ensures that every segment of the constituency, from youth groups to market women, elders, and traditional rulers, has a voice in legislative decisions.
"We have never had a lawmaker who listens to us like Hon. Akaliro. He doesn’t just come during elections; he is always here, checking on us and addressing our concerns," Chief Kelechi Nwosu, a community leader in Umuahia North opined.
Since assuming office, Hon. Akaliro has sponsored several legislative efforts including, Youth Empowerment Initiatives, infrastructure Development, Education and Scholarship Programs, healthcare and Welfare Support, etc.
One of the beneficiaries of his recent Free JAMB Registration Initiative, shared her gratitude: "I thought I would not write my JAMB exam this year due to financial constraints, but Hon. Akaliro gave me and others the opportunity and I am grateful for it. Today, I am registered for the exam, all thanks to Hon. Anderson Akaliro and my future looks brighter."
Beyond his constituency, Hon. Akaliro has been an advocate for justice and equity, standing against policies that marginalize any group.
Mrs. Nnenna Okoro, women’s leader in the constituency stated categorically, "His legal background makes him fearless when it comes to fighting for what is right. He speaks for the voiceless, and that’s why we stand with him."
On his part, Hon. Akaliro has assured his constituents that he remains committed to their welfare and will continue working tirelessly to address their needs.
In his words, "My duty as your representative is to serve you, to listen to your concerns, and to ensure that our voices are heard in the Abia State House of Assembly.
