Umuahia, Abia State |August 14, 2025 —

The Abia State House of Assembly Chief Whip and Member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Emeka Obioma, has commended Gov. Alex Otti’s administration, describing Abia State as a model for good governance in Nigeria.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Umuahia, Obioma lauded the governor’s achievements in infrastructural renewal, prudent financial management, and people-focused reforms.
He noted that the positive changes witnessed in the state within a short period were proof that visionary leadership could transform society.

Abia State has truly become a model for good governance. From the quality of roads being constructed to the improvements in healthcare, education, and security, it is clear that the administration is working with a clear plan and sincere commitment,” Obioma said.

The lawmaker emphasized that Gov Otti’s emphasis on transparency, accountability, and economic diversification had restored public trust in government.

What we see in Abia today is a shift from the old ways of doing things. There is a new culture of accountability and service delivery. People can now feel the impact of government in their daily lives, and that is the hallmark of true leadership,” he added.

Obioma stressed that the Otti-led government’s approach to governance should serve as a blueprint for other states.
He pointed out that the administration’s reforms had enhanced investor confidence, attracted development partners, and improved the living standards of citizens.

“Abia’s progress should not just be celebrated, it should be studied. Other states can learn from our approach; how to plan, implement, and monitor projects in a way that truly benefits the people,” he stated.

The Chief Whip urged residents, political leaders, and stakeholders to support the government’s developmental agenda, noting that unity and cooperation were essential to sustaining the current pace of progress.

“We all have a role to play. Governance is not the duty of the governor alone, it is a collective responsibility. If we maintain this spirit of cooperation, Abia will not only lead in infrastructure and economic reforms but also in human capital development,” Obioma concluded.

With the reforms currently underway, Obioma expressed optimism that Abia would continue to set the pace for innovation, transparency, and inclusive growth in the years to come.
