In a significant show of public confidence, Hon. Barr. Anderson Kelechi Akaliro, the Member representing Umuahia North (Ohuhu) State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, has emerged as the Best House of Assembly Member for 2025, an award organized by Abia State Politics Today, a platform dedicated to governance and political accountability in the state.
Hon. Akaliro clinched the award after polling the highest number of votes in a tightly contested selection process, defeating his closest rival, Hon. Lucky Igbokwe.
The voting, which involved public participation and stakeholder evaluation, reflected a groundswell of support for Akaliro’s legislative impact, people-focused initiatives, and unwavering commitment to his constituents.
Reacting to the award, Hon. Akaliro expressed deep gratitude to the people of Umuahia North and the organizers for recognizing his dedication to service.

Organizers of the award, Abia State Politics Today, said Hon. Akaliro emerged top after days of online voting.
