Hon. Obi Aguocha Congratulates CP Enyinna Adiogu on Promotion to AIG of Police

Abuja, Nigeria – July 22, 2025

Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to CP Enyinna Adiogu on his well-deserved promotion from Commissioner of Police (CP) to Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police.

Enyinna Adiogu, a seasoned officer and distinguished law enforcement leader, has had a storied career within the Nigeria Police Force. Among his many notable assignments, he once served as the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former Inspector General of Police Ogbonna Onovo, a role that demonstrated his competence, loyalty, and professionalism at the highest level of national security leadership.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, Hon. Aguocha praised the promotion as both timely and meritorious, describing Adiogu as “a man of integrity and excellence whose decades of service have consistently exemplified discipline, courage, and dedication to the rule of law.”

It gives me great joy to congratulate our own, CP Enyinna Adiogu on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police,” Hon. Aguocha stated. “This is a reward for years of tireless service, sacrifice, and an unblemished track record in protecting lives, enforcing the law, and upholding the values of justice.”

The federal lawmaker further noted that Adiogu's elevation is not only a personal achievement but a moment of pride for the entire Abia State and the Southeast region.

“Enyinnaya Adiogu’s journey has been a testament to the power of discipline and resilience. His new rank as AIG is a recognition that he has consistently delivered on every responsibility entrusted to him. He brings honour not only to the police force but to Abia and to all of us who value principled leadership,” Aguocha remarked.

Aguocha also reflected on Adiogu’s prior role as ADC to IGP Onovo, stating that it was clear even then that the young officer possessed rare qualities of tact, discretion, and leadership potential.

His early posting as ADC to the then IGP Onovo already pointed to his bright future. That assignment placed him at the heart of national security coordination, and he delivered with distinction. His promotion to AIG is therefore not surprising, it is simply well-earned.”

He concluded by expressing confidence that Adiogu will continue to serve Nigeria with honour in his new capacity and pledged his continued support for efforts to strengthen security and promote peace across the nation.

We pray for greater wisdom and strength as he takes on this new and more demanding responsibility. May his leadership inspire a new era of professionalism and accountability in the force.”
