A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, on Monday argued that the primary consideration for leadership in Nigeria should be a person’s ability to foster a sense of justice and belonging for all citizens, rather than their ethnic or partisan affiliation. He also declared that the Labour Party’s Peter Obi was the true winner of the 2023 presidential election.Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Tonight, the ex-SGF said,“The problem with Bola Tinubu is that he thinks I’m the one that offended him. I didn’t offend him, he offended me and he is full of himself, and he thinks that he now so-called president…I believe he didn’t win the election.” He claimed his team monitored the voting process across the country, gathered data and tracked results from polling units, but discovered irregularities.
