The newly established Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency is targeting N1.5 billion as revenue between September and December 2025.
The Director-General of the Agency, Kabiru Dakata, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on the operations of the agency on Thursday.
He said, “Our revenue target from September to December is N1.5 billion, and we have mapped out strategies to ensure that is realised. We are also targeting N3 billion in 2026 and N5 billion in 2027.”
The DG said the agency was not only established to generate revenue, but also to sanitise outdoor advertising and align with global best practices.
He said the agency, which was established by the government to regulate outdoor advertisements, would soon commence operation as all the necessary preparations had been completed.
“Even though KASA is a new agency established by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in April 2025 to regulate outdoor advertisements, we are going to use both enforcement and revenue collection.”
He said part of the enforcement was to ensure that the state’s outdoor advertisement signage posts are aligned and comply with the rules and regulations of the agency.
Dakata added that the agency is already collaborating with other outdoor advertisement agencies to work in unison so as to regulate duplication of their jobs and ensure that they operate within the law.
The DG explained that the agency has since commenced the registration of business owners who are using signage advertisement posts.
“The agency’s mandate covers billboards, branded vehicles, roadshows, tricycles, delivery riders, and advertisements displayed on shops or private premises.
“KASA will determine the number, size and location of structures, as well as remove abandoned billboards that pose safety risks.
“We would also correct the way and means some advertisement agencies use vulgar words and words that also go against the sensitivity of the community while placing their advertisements.”
KASA was established in early 2025 under Yusuf’s administration to regulate outdoor advertising in the state.
